Guests from Cyprus

Teachers and students from Cyprus from a school called Agros Apeitio Gymnasium (http://www.schools.ac.cy/gym-agr-lim/) visited our high school on Tuesday, January the 24th 2012. Computer science teacher Kazeli Sofia, teacher of Greek Stylianou Emilia, a teacher of physics Michalis Ioannou and their seven students participated in workshops in programming and physics. These workshops were organized by teachers form our school Jovica Milisavljevic, Stanka Matkovic and Dusa Vukovic. The workshops were also attended by guests from the Polytechnic School in Kragujevac, teacher Katarina Veljkovic and her students. Guests attended the celebration of Saint Sava in our school on January 25th.

Agros Apeitio School Gymnasium located in the beautiful mountainous area of Cyprus. The school contains a gymnasium and lyceum. This school has three grades for students aged 12 to 15. Lyceum also has three years and it is attended by students aged 16 to 18 years. High school provides general knowledge, while at the second and the third year of the lyceum students choose their subjects. All students who visited our school have one of these subjects as main ones: mathematics, physics and computer science.

Cooperation with the Confucius Institute

 

Mathematical High School formalized the cooperation with the Confucius Institute on Thursday, October 20th 2011. This cooperation will be will enable our students to learn the Chinese language, and to establish contacts with schools of the same profile in China. Classes will be held twice a week in the afternoon in the Mathematical High School. All teachers and teaching materials for these courses will be provided by the Confucius Institute. Confucius Institute is an international name for Chinese cultural centers that operate under the auspices of China and which are established in major cities across the world. The first step of this cooperation is to learn the Chinese language, and then to make contact with the Chinese Embassy and Chinese Ministry of Education to find a school in China that would be interested in an exchange of materials and knowledge of students. When it comes to math , China is the leading country in the world.

Our students and professors in Sweden

 

Six students of the Mathematical High School, teacher Mirjana Perovanović and the principal Srđan Ognjanović visited a Swedish school in Malmö from May 25th to May 30th 2010. Representatives of the Mathematical High School were also received by the Serbian Ambassador to Sweden Ms. Vida Ognjenović.

Guests from Malmö

 

Representatives of a school from Malmö visited the Mathematical High School from May 19th to May 21st 2009. The representatives of the school from Malmö Sweden returned the visit.

On this occasion, the principal of the school, "Malmo Borgarskola" Nikola Sarac and the principal of the Mathematical High School Srdjan Ognjanović, signed a cooperation deal between these two schools. Representatives of the Embassy of Sweden were also present on this occasion.

Our teachers in Sweden

 

A group of teachers from the Mathematical High School visited the high school "Borgarskola Malmo" in Malmo, Sweden from April 26th to April 30th. The initiator of this cooperation is the principal of the school, "Malmo Borgarskola" Nikola Sarac. Swedish teachers were impressed by the success achieved by the students of the Mathematical High School in international competitions. They intend to develop a similar concept of education in their school.

Representatives of the Mathematical High School saw the excellent conditions and the excellent organization of one of the best schools in Sweden, which has more than 1400 students. The program of the visit included a tour of the classes, talking and sharing experience with colleagues from Sweden and agreement on future cooperation, which will include an exchange of students and teachers of the two schools. Colleagues from Sweden are particularly interested in the possibility of using specialized textbooks used in teaching Mathematics in our school.

The next visit of the Malmö delegation to Belgrade is planned for May 19th and 20th. It is expected that this meeting will be attended by a representative of the Swedish Embassy.
