As a part of the National Museum's campaign The Museum in a Suitcase, 7a students welcomed Ivana Minic, the curator of the National Museum, for the lecture about the ancient civilization of Lepenski vir. After the short lecture about the importance of Lepenski vir, the students saw the documentary about the first archaeological works in Lepenski vir, led by the famous scientist Dragoslav Srejovic. All together, students and their guest used plasticine to create Danube, houses typical for ancient Lepenski vir area and fish-like statues. We are very grateful to the National Museum and Mrs Minic for coming to our school.

Just like each May, a specially selected crew made of students and professors of Mathematical Grammar School visited Trsic, the place where Vuk Karadzic was born. It is a traditional location for the national competition in Serbian language for students of primary and secondary education. MGS primary school was represented by Vera Vlaski (7a) and Lidija Pilipovic (7b), together with the professor Andjelka Miladinovic. MGS high school was represented by Filip Koldzic (1b), Mihailo Milosevic (1d), Tamara Stojanovic (1e), Katarina Jocic (2e), Jana Stojanovic (2e) and Masa Tiosavljevic (2e), together with professors Jelena Novovic and Dusica Antanaskovic. Our students won two medals: Lidija Pilipovic (7b) – bronze medal Masa Tiosavljevic (2e) – bronze medal Other students were very close to winning a medal and they represented their school and their language skills in the best possible way. Our crew in Trsic visited Vuk Karadzic’s birthplace, learnt about the way of living at the countryside and old crafts, visited the Museum of language and letters – a home to the Vuk’s Bukvar, took part in the calligraphy workshop. We congratulate our students and their professors for the excellent achievement. They showed that MGS is close to the top at this traditional grammar race.
